Phil Cisneros Releases Two New Songs on CD's

"I Stand In The Sun." www.cisnerosmusic.blogspot.com
Phil Cisneros wrote this song inspired by those who work tirelessly to eradicate poverty and marginalization on the planet. Phil's expression in his music comes from his heart and therefore often speaks for the humanity in us all. Having sung before thousands and thousands since the 1967, Phil leaves his audiences with a sense of celebration for being human and a new capacity to being related. His enthusiasm easily fills any audience with a new energy to go back into the world with. Phil is also an award-winning children's book author. Phil is available for keynote concerts to launch your conference or convention on a high note.
"Let Us Stand For The United Nations" CD  www.philsunsong.blogspot.com
This song, written, sung and recorded by Phil Cisneros is dedicated to the work of the United Nations and in particular, the Millinium Development Goals.Today, we not only have the financial resources to end extreme poverty once and for all, but we have the technological knowledge and know-how to realize the Goals. It is also clear, however, that if we carry on in a "business as usual" mode, the Goals will not be achieved by 2015. The way forward is marked, it is only the political will to achieve the Goals that is in question.
Find more about each of the Goals, and what you can do to help turn the Goals into reality:
1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger2. Achieve universal primary education3. Promote gender equality and empower women4. Reduce child mortality5. Improve maternal health6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases7. Ensure environmental sustainability8. Develop a global partnership for development

Testimony For Phil Cisneros

I highly recommend Phil as a personal and/or professional business coach. I have had the pleasure of engaging Phil as my coach on two separate occasions over the last four years. Both times, I produced amazing, real world results.

During our first engagement, I was in the early stages of a brand new career, and with Phil's coaching I secured a 30% raise at my 6 month mark. I also moved into the home of my dreams, completed a University certificate program, was accepted into a Master's degree program, achieved a higher designation in a leadership training program and purchased a new car. These are just a few of the results that I had been "wanting" to achieve for a very long time. With Phil's support I actually made them happen, and more.

A year or so later, I hired Phil again. This time, Phil's coaching and insight helped me to secure a new, ideal full-time position in my chosen field (with another nearly 50% pay increase and extraordinary benefits), as well as begin an exciting and fulfilling business of my own.

Phil's coaching always helped me to keep on track, especially when I encountered roadblocks to my goals. On my own, where I likely would have veered off course or given up completely, Phil's support kept me moving forward with my eye on and my actions aligned with my vision no matter what.

If you want to achieve your vision with velocity and focus, Phil is your man.

Are Your Goals Sourced by a Purpose?

It may be great to head out each day to generate results, but are your results or goals sourced in a purpose? A purpose creates the environment that results are generated from. It's the difference between going for the goodies or creating new possibilities other than just getting results. A purpose also allows for a variety of possible scenarios in getting results, where as results-driven action is narrow and limited. For a new dimension to your business productivity, write a purpose for the results you want to accomplish. If you need assistance in writing the purpose, call me (805-541-3451) or e-mail me (cisnerosbiz@gmail.com), and I'll assist you in distinguishing it.

Today's Thought

"The key for extraordinary performance is in practice. Practice is the threshold of capacity. The price for being extraordinary calls for a relationship with practice that is equivilent to the commitment that artists and atheletes have to the practices of their professions."

Zen and the Art of Golf!

This week I was in Green Valley, Arizona doing some business and taking some time out from my schedule to enhance my well-being. While there I went to the driving range at Torres Blanca Golf Course to brush up on my swing. It was interesting that everytime (you golfers will know about this!) I was about to hit the ball, my head would turn to see where the ball was going to go before I even hit it! This is called "attached to the future." I would usually (and with much embarrassment at that) miss the ball and hit a divot or the ball would dribble off the tee. Much of my attention was focused on where the ball went (even before I hit it!) than keeping my "eye on the ball!" I wonder if that's where that saying came from! When I kept present and focused on the ball until I hit it, the ball would go at least 100 yards...and sometimes straight! What I got out of this whole discovery was that being present to the moment allowed one to execute a task with a lot more proficiency rather than trying to see if the future was going to turn out or not.
Recently, the Dalai Lama was interviewed in March/April AARP magazine. He was asked "You've called yourself a 'semi-retired Dalai Lama.' When people in America retire, they often take up games like golf. What does a semi-retired Dalai Lama do?" He answered: " In a way I play golf in my interior life. For four hours every morning, I do meditation. The meditation I practice is not just to sit there in thoughtlessness. I analyze. It's like brainstorming sessions. So within the brain, you see a kind of competition taking place between various poles of emotions. (He laughs). In a sense, this is more fun than golf!"

The Art and Practice of Making Impossible Promises

In Lewis Carroll's Through The Looking Glass, Alice said there was no use trying because "one can't believe impossible things," the White Queen retorted, "I daresay you haven't had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for a half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Are you generating impossibilities to possibilities or are you resigned like Alice? Make it a practice to write 6 impossible results for the day, commit to making them happen, and at the end of the day, notice who you had to be to produce anyone of those 6 impossible results!

Thought For the Week

Interview with the Dalai Lama

"Why didn't you fight back against the Chinese?" The Dalai Lama looked down, swung his feet just a bit, then looked back up at us and said with a gentle smile, "Well, war is obsolete, you know." Then, after a few moments, his face grave, he said, "Of course the mind can rationalize fighting back...but the heart, the heart would never understand. Then you would be divided in yourself, the heart and the mind, and the war would be inside you."

Your Vision for 2006 As Your Map For the Journey

Have you written your vision for 2006 yet? Don't put it off. You may find yourself flying by the seat of your pants instead of powerfully causing your year to happen. If you have been putting it off, maybe you are avoiding your power to have what you really want in your life and your business. Take an hour today and write your vision. Be specific. Be accomplished with specific measurable results. Be yourself in your vision...effective, unstoppable and productive! Unleash yourself in your vision! Have a great weekend!

Telling the Truth As An Option

Whenever there is consistent problem in your business, sometimes the problem is someone needing to tell the truth and take responsibility for it. So many times fear runs the environment of the business and lies are conjured up to keep from looking like a fool, a failure or inadequate to the situation. I often have to ask clients that in order to gain momentum in a business, clearing the deck by acknowledging the truth gives the business back its vitality. There has to be a safe environment to be able to say "This isn't working." If that is present, options can be discussed. If it isn't there, the resistence to the truth will generate more lying about the situation. Whe I was a teacher at an elementary school in the mid-80's, the parents of the school complained about the districts new math program stating that they found it very confusing and hard to figure out with their kids at home when they did their homework. I, too found the program difficult and noticed students coming to my classroom at the beginning of the year lacking a lot of skills that were to have been accomplished the year before. The principal of our school gathered the teachers in the library and went down the line asking "Is this math program working for your students, yes or no?" He was going for a consensus so he could report back to the parents. Because some of the teachers on the staff who were on that math committee who chose this math series for it's implementation, no one wanted to hurt their feelings, even though some of them had confided in me that they thought the program wasn't working either, and they just said "Yes." When it came time for me to respond, I told the truth for me "No." I was the only one who said no. After the meeting, a lead teacher  who was on that committee came to me, pulled me aside and asked me why I said no. I told him that I spoke my truth. He then told me don't ever tell the truth again because it takes too much work to get another math program. I saw how a person is committed to convenience rather than efficiency right before my eyes...at the cost of his integity. It saddened me.
If there was a condition to tell the truth, there could have been options. Eventually, the parents had to wage a campaign to get rid of the math program, causing more strife and frustration. The program was dropped and another one was adopted after many frustrating meetins with opposing factions. We could have saved a lot of time if only we had the condition to tell the truth and resolve it then. No matter how much one resists the truth, the truth always wins out and the truth shall set you free!.

A Story of Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a debate that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between 2 "wolves" inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:  "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

What wolf are you feeding today?

Are you Committed or just hoping it all turns out?

“The gap between the committed and the indifferent is a Sahara whose faint trails followed by the mind’s eye only fade out in the sand.” ---Nadine Gordimer

We can say what we want to have happen. The question is are you committed to it happening? Most people think that a future is something to wish for and it didn't happen, it was never meant to be. Life for them is a series of faded wishes and settling for less. The question really is how good do you really want it to be and are committed to having it? What ever you put your attention on, so goes the results of your business. This week's challenge is inquire iinto your commitments and ask yourself, "Am I committed or just wishful thinking?" If it is wishful thinking, drop it, or commit to it and make it happen because you said so. If you are reading this and you do it, I would love to hear from you. Have a great week!
